Soon after our launch on 16 November 2013 in Singapore, the Kasparov Chess Foundation Asia-Pacific was contacted by the organisers of the South East Asia Games for technical assistance and we were quickly able to put together a USD 20,000 package to upgrade their facilities and to provide equipment as well as help subsidise the expenses of arbiters to bring the event up to international standards.
